Cognitive Technologies understands how the human brain absorbs information and the problems we all face when trying to recall something in time to perform correctly. It takes as little as 16 hours after a training event for our recall to start to deteriorate, especially if we haven't had a chance to practice what was learned. A better solution may be to develop and deploy performance support and job aids that can be used by the performer at the moment of need, within the actual job context. Performance support is a set of tools that guides the user of a software system by embedding assistance within the system, or making it available along side of the system. Job aids are repositories for information, processes, or decisions that support work and activity by directing or guiding performance.
